How to wear monochromatic makeup like a pro

Monochromatic makeup is when you keep the color palette of your makeup the same for your lips, eyes, and cheeks. This style of makeup can be sweet and simple or statement-making depending on the shape or color you choose. I've highlighted a handful of my favorite multipurpose beauty products that make mastering this beauty trend a total breeze. Pick shades that complement your complexion and skin tones. Red, pinks, and browns look beautiful on everyone. When it comes to cheek and blush color, make sure to blend out+diffuse the color so it doesn’t appear too clownish. Opting for multi-use products is a foolproof way to know that your colors are matching, so you don't have to worry about contrasting color families competing with one another on the face.

If you've already tried a subtle pink monochrome look (see pretty little peach on the red carpet-above) and you're ready to take the intensity up a notch, try this makeup look that features electric watermelon hues. This monochrome color scheme is ideal if you're looking for a bit more saturation and fun. Keep in mind skin should be clean+fresh, brows full and minnnnnimal liner unless that of course is your pop of monocolor.

Multi-use products are popular at the moment since most of us have taken a more 'no fuss' approach to our makeup. There’s a lot going on in the world and a complicated makeup routine does not seem to fit in anymore, especially since most interactions are virtual and our faces are often covered by masks. My celebrity clients have had no choice but to be their own glam team this passed year, more simple and natural makeup has almost become a trend. More than ever people doing their own makeup want products that are user-friendly, quick and not complicated, and these multi-use products are perfect for that.

  • GEORGIO ARMANI NEO NUDE A-BLUSH, a mistake-proof liquid blush that applies like a sheer wash of water-color for all you accidental heavy handers.

  • KOSAS COLOR & LIGHT: CREME in 8th MUSE is universally flattering. I wear it everyday. Love this clean beauty line so much, not only is their packaging so good but the weightless, buildable formulas are everything. Enhanced with nourishing face oils including marula, rosehip seed, grape seed, green tea, and myrrh, the creams offer effortless, blendable layering and super smooth finish.

  • Love this HOURGLASS VANISH BLUSH STICK tap on with your fingers and build to desired flushness for a light stain. For a soft, diffused color, apply with the No. 2 BLUSH BRUSH ( also love this for an airbrushed hush of coverage) .For a saturated color, apply with the VANISH SEAMLESS FINISH FOUNDATION BRUSH - this will pick up and deposit more product.

  • GLOSSIERS CLOUD PAINT hands down one of my v favorite products in my kit+makeup bag. Apply directly to the skin with your fingertips as soon as your foundation has been applied but not fully absorbed in.. both will become one in a magical cloud of softness. Then tap the excess on your lips for a soft+ subtle harmonious boost of color.
